The latest updates to the platform are live. After a month of development and refining, the newest features are free to try. Aubel is now a Pay What You Want platform, free to try for three days, zero credit card required. Download it for free on the App Store and watch your ear and your eye get stronger. I'm not asking you to buy the app. I'm just asking you to consider whether it's something you need. And if you don't, you definitely know someone who does.

The new update features more training games. Each of these games has a listening counterpart, plus two brand new ones to work on basic note and key signature recognition. Practice and timed modes for all of them.
Reading games (for sight reading)
- Note Identification
- Key Signature Identification
- Scale Identification
- Chord Identification
- Interval Identification
A key milestone in this version is our new community system. A fun, competitive way for musicians and students to watch their progress grow over time. Cohort-style ranked ladders let you climb from Performer to Virtuoso, and a global leaderboard shows how you rank against the rest of the app.
Community
- Ranked ladder
- Friends and groups
- Leaderboards
- Accounts to sync your data to the web platform
The feature I'm most excited about is our new classroom platform. The goal of Aubel has always been to help as many musicians as we can. This platform gives students and teachers tools to monitor progress, assign work, and more. It's a simple per-seat price for the entire year: you get the teacher dashboard and support, and your students get full access to the app for the whole year. Aubel strives to be an effective, affordable option for classrooms around the country, and eventually the world.
Classroom
- Advanced student performance analytics
- Assign customized or personalized assessments, unique to each student's progression, or unified for the whole class
- Export detailed reports to Google Sheets
- Set expectations for the whole class: weekly time, accuracy requirements, and more
- Extremely affordable pricing
Aubel is by no means a finished product, and it will keep changing and evolving as it grows. The most effective tool for growth is feedback from the community, so I invite you to share any and all thoughts. To see more about what changed, read the update notes.
Thanks,
Euan
